Capital gain refers to the monetary gains derived from the sale of an immovable asset
(generally referred to property), which has been held for at least 2 years. These moneys need
to be invested in specific capital gains bonds within 6 months of date of sale of the asset.
These bonds are highly secure, non-transferable, and non-negotiable. Investment amount
ranges from INR 10,000 to INR 50 lakhs for a tenure of 5 years. This is a mandatory provision
under Section 54EC of the Income Tax Act.

This is a safe and secure financial instrument specially and specifically designed for investing
the money received or gained from the sale of property. Although the interest rate is less
than 6% per annum, however, the capital is safe for 5 years. We help and advise on these
